__ANA PAULA AMENDOEIRA 

 

Ana Paula Amendoeira was born in 1963 in Alentejo (Portugal). In 1985 she graduated in History in the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon, and became Master in Restoration of Architectural and Landscape Heritage in the University of Évora, in 1999; she was awarded in 2002 with the European Diploma in Cultural Project Management (Council of Europe / Marcel Hicter-Brussels / UNESCO Foundation). Researcher and assistant professor in the Faculty of Letters – University of Coimbra since 2012, she was member of the working group which created the World Heritage of Portuguese Origin (WHPO) network. She was member of the International Executive Committee of ICOMOS (International Council of Monuments and Sites) and ICOMOS Committee for the evaluation of World Heritage applications between 2003 and 2005, and was president of ICOMOS – Portugal between between 2011 and 2015. Between 2013 and 2023, she was the Regional Director of Culture of Alentejo. She has been a Portuguese member of the Scientific Committee of the JPI CH

(Joint Programming Initiative on Cultural Heritage) of the European Union since November 2020. Currently,

she is vice-president of the Alentejo Regional Coordination and Development Commission and vice-president

of ICOMOS – Portugal.
